---------1.install MySQL

--1. Creating new groups and users for MySQL

#groupadd MySQL

#useradd-G MySQL MySQL

--2. Check if there is a compiler

#su-root

#rpm-qa | grep gcc gcc-c++

--3. Extracting
#cd/USR/LOCAL/SRC

# tar Xvzf mysql-5.1.47.tar.gz

# CD mysql-5.1.47

--4. Configuring and Compiling

#chmod +x Configure

#./configure--prefix=/usr/local/mysql--enable-local-infile

#make

#make Install

--5. Install the options file and use the current file as a template

#cp support-files/my-medium.cnf/etc/my.cnf

--6. setting MySQL Permissions

#cd/usr/local/mysql

#chown-R MySQL.

#chgrp-R MySQL.

--7. New MySQL-Allowed tables

#/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_install_db--user=mysql

#chown-R mysql Var

--8. Setting up MySQL boot from:

# Cp/usr/local/src/mysql-5.1.47/support-files/mysql.server/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysql

#chmod +x/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysql

#chkconfig--add MySQL

--9. Test and run MySQL

#/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe--user=mysql &

#service MySQL Start

--10. Modifying the MySQL Administrator password
#/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqladmin-u Root password Password

--11. Log in to MySQL using a user
#/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql-u Root-p

--12. Link MySQL Code

# cd/usr/local/mysql/bin/
#for file in *;

> ln-s/usr/local/mysql/bin/$file/usr/bin/$file;
> Done

Test MySQL at any location to start MySQL:

#cd

# mysql-u Root-p
