MySQL viewing and enabling binary logs

1. Check if the log is enabled

Mysql>show variables like ' log_bin ';

Value is off for off

2. Edit the My.cnf file

Vim/etc/my.cnf

At the bottom of [mysqld], fill in the Log-bin

Save exit

3. Restart MySQL

Service mysqld Restart

4. Check again to see if the log is enabled

Mysql>show variables like ' log_bin ';

This value is on

5. View the current binary log

Mysql> Show master status;
