1. Concept of storage Engine

The storage engine (the storage engine can also be a table type) is actually how to store the data, how to index the stored data, how to update the data, and how to implement the technology. Data in MySQL is stored in files (or memory) in a variety of different technologies. Each of these technologies uses different storage mechanisms, indexing techniques, locking levels and ultimately providing a wide range of different functions and capabilities, and these different technologies and associated functions are called storage engines in MYQL. You can choose the storage engine that applies to servers, databases, and tables.

Querying MySQL-supported storage engines

Mysql>show engines;
