Bootloader

Bootloader is the first program to be executed after the computer starts and is responsible for loading the operating system. Hardware can do things relatively simple, the kernel structure is complex, the hardware can only load a relatively simple bootloader, loaded by bootloader OS.

Computer startup

The computer starts the approximate process:

1. Power-on self-test, this is the hardware manufacturers things;
2. Bios mount Bootloader to memory location 0x7c00;
3. Bootloader load OS to a specific location, jump to OS execution.

GCC & Gnu-ld

GCC and Gnu-ld are proven tools, and although there are some drawbacks, they provide good features for operating system development.
