In Cassandra's system log, you see the following log:

INFO  07:17:18 enqueuing flush of standard1:701845360 (33%) on-heap, 0 (0%) off-heapinfo 07:17:19 Writing  memtabl[ Email protected] (205333260 serialized bytes, 4666665 ops, 33%/0% of On/off-heap limit)

Very curious about the off-heap, in some blog1,2 know this is in Cassandra 2.1 of the new feature.
