The commands in the Layers menu enable most edits to the layer, such as new, merged, delete, and so on.

　　One: New command

You can implement a new layer, group, or background layer by using a subcommand in the new command.

　　layers: Select this command to open the New Layer dialog box and create a fresh layer.

　　background layer: This command converts the background layer to a normal layer, and if there is no background layer in the document, select a layer and convert it to the background layer after the command is executed.

　　Group: This command creates a new layer group.

　　Set up a group from a layer: Create a new layer group and place the selected layer in the newly created layer.

　　layers copied: Using this command, you can copy and paste the images in the current selection directly into the new layer.

　　cut layers: Use this command to cut and paste the image in the current selection directly into the new layer.

　　Two: Duplicate layer command

You can copy layers to the current document, other open documents, and new documents by using the copy Layers command. Follow the copy Layer command to open the Copy Layer dialog box, as shown in the following illustration. In the dialog box, you can define the name of the new layer and select the target location for the copy.

　　Three: Delete command

Use the subcommand in the Delete command to remove a layer or hidden layer. Select the layer, and then execute the command.

　　Four: Layer Properties command

Follow the layer layer Properties command, and the Layer Properties dialog box pops up.

You can change the name of the layer in the Name text box and change the color for the layer in the Color list.

　　VI: New fill layer Command

With the solid, gradient, and pattern commands in the new fill layer, you can add monochrome, gradient, or pattern-filled layers to the image, each of which occupies a single layer that adjusts parameters or deletes as needed.
