Practices for creating a Samsung i9088 Flash ROM (1)

First of all, we need to understand that Rom is actually made in two layers:

The first layer is to use the official ROM as the base package, through the unpacking, modification, packaging several steps, to create a custom Rom.

The second layer is based on Google's aosp (Android open source project). It starts from the source code, compiles it by itself, and packs it to get the self-made Rom.

 

This article is only about the first layer. The popular i9000 package on the internet is mainly based on the first-level self-made Rom. While HTC's mobile phones have many Rom packages based on level 2.

 

Let's get down to the truth.

 

Purpose:

1. Delete apps and naive boot animations customized by China Unicom;

3. preset an R. Explorer File Browser.

 

Preparations:
1) Of course, you should first download the official Rom. If you often choose the Android empire, this will not be a problem.
2) You have a Linux computer (I use Ubuntu 10.04 desktop 32bit)

Step 1: Learn how to use official editions first(The premise is that you have installed Samsung's mobile phone driver. For example, if you have installed Kies, the driver will be mounted ).

 

A) unlock the downloaded Rom package. There should be several files in it, and their respective functions can be distinguished from the names.
PDA is the system package, CSC is the software update, and modem is the phone, which determines the baseband version after the flash.

 

B) Run odin3 (there is only one EXE file, and it will certainly not be wrong ).

C) Select the corresponding files to their respective locations.

D) enable re-partition (re-partitioning). Generally, we need to re-partition all the data (PDA, CSC, and phone) (if you are sure that the previous data is of the same version, it's okay if you don't want to repartition ).

If you just click one of them (for example, if you only click "CSC", you cannot re-partition. You know the reason ).

E) when the mobile phone is shut down, press the volume key + power key to start the system. Then, the downloader mode is displayed, showing that a small robot is digging coal (commonly known as "digging coal ).

F) connect to the USB cable. Now odin3 will see that the mobile phone is connected. In ID: the serial port number corresponding to the mobile phone is displayed on COM (ODIN can support multiple USB connections to multiple mobile phones for factory flash, provided that you have several 9088 at the same time ).

G) No problem. Press start. The flash progress will be displayed in the message window, And a progress bar will be displayed on the phone. The system will automatically restart (if the auto reboot in Odin is hooked up ).
