Project Server 2013 beginners (2) Assign permissions to PWA users

In the previous article, we talked about how to add users to the PWA website of Project Server 2013. After the users are added, how can we set the corresponding permissions for these users, to correspond to different roles in our project management (Project Manager, resource manager, employee, owner, etc ), so that the rights and responsibilities they exercise throughout the project are reflected in the project management center of our project server PWA.

Assign the global permissions of PWA to the user (I will introduce this global permission in a later article)

After completing the preceding steps, we will manage users under "Server Settings" in Project Server 2013.

1) return to the PWA homepage and click server settings in the "quick navigation" on the left ".

3) Add the user we created on the "Manage Users" Page and assign permissions to the user. On this page, select "new user ";

4) go to the "new user" Page. There are many configurations on this page. Let's look at them one by one.

4. 1) in "User Authentication", enter "User Logon account" to synchronize users in AD. The above "ID information" -- "display name" is automatically changed to the user name;

Note: You can select "users can be allocated as resources" as needed ", after this option is selected, the user is automatically changed to "work hour resources" and added to the "work hour resources" list of "resource center.

4.2) drag the scroll bar on the right to the "assignment attributes" page, which involves the knowledge of specific working groups. You can add users to the "default assignment owner", and keep the remaining items by default.

4.3) on the "Security Group" configuration page, divide security groups for users as needed,

Note: All PWA users are automatically added to the "workgroup member group" group.

4.4) Expand "security category". You can specify the "category permission" for the user as needed, or use the "category permission template" to simplify the configuration. Keep the default value.

4.5) Expand "Global Permissions". Here, you can manage the user's "Global Permissions". By checking the "allow" and "deny" option, you can specify the user's "Global Permissions ", here, Microsoft has developed many permission templates for us, which can be applied directly for convenience.

4.6) the "Group domain", "Working Group details", and "system identification data" at the bottom of this page are not covered in this document. Please keep the default value. Click "save" in the upper-right or lower-right corner of the page to complete the user's "Global permission" allocation.
