In Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, due to the existence of UAC, Microsoft added the protection mode for IE 7 to enhance its security. However, in some cases, the security mode is too nagging. Therefore, in IE 8, Microsoft decided to disable this function by default. However, in IE 8RC, this feature is still enabled by default.
In IE 8, when users browse websites of different security levels, IE will no longer be forced to open in a new window. In IE 7, to ensure security, the user will see related prompts.
Microsoft engineer Veena Karanam said: "Further browsing will be forced to open in a new window. in IE 7, protection mode is enabled by default, at this time, if the user browses different levels of websites, IE will prompt the user that the new webpage will be forcibly opened in the new window."
In IE 8, due to the existence of the loose coupling function, this setting is no longer necessary. That is to say, different websites will open with different IE frameworks.
