Hardware features
The S40 touch screen mobile phone design philosophy is: one-hand operation, and only through the thumb can complete all operations.
For the S40 touch screen mobile phone design concept, the design of buttons and screens is improved as follows:
1. ITU-T keyboard, and answer/hook key
2. QVGA 320X240) 2.4 inch touch screen
3. removed the navigation key and left and right software.
Layout Design Principles
The screen is divided into three parts:
1. Status Zone
The status area is located at the top of the screen, with 31 pixels High. It is worth noting that the status zone is only used to display information about the mobile phone and application, and this part of the screen does not receive any operation.
2. Application Area
Located in the middle part, 240 pixels in height, the application will display in this part.
3. Soft key zone
The value is 49 pixels high, and three soft keys on the left, center, and right can be implemented.
Soft key Interaction
Interface Design of the soft key interaction zone:
The left and right soft keys are the most common cases, as shown in the picture on the right. The left side is "option" and the right side is "return"
When you need to use a soft key, the three soft keys are arranged as shown in the picture on the right. It is worth noting that most of the soft keys can be replaced by clicking a touch screen.
When there is only one right soft key, the left soft key area should not respond to any operation.
The use of left and right software in S40 touch screen mobile phones follows the following general principles:
"Option" occupies the left soft key area.
The right soft key provides functions such as "return", "exit", and "cancel.
Interactive action
Click-press and release on the same target, and the interval is longer and shorter. This is the most common touch event.
Long press-press and release on the same target for a period of time. It is often used to open the context menu.
Drag-Press on the target, drag your finger, stop moving, and release.
Slide-Press on the target, drag the finger, and release when the finger moves. It is often used for paging and scrolling.
Touch screen feedback
All touchable elements must have visual feedback.
When a vibration is opened, any touch event has a vibration feedback. Vibration feedback is not controlled by the application, but can be turned on or off in the settings of the mobile phone.
Sound feedback is not recommended.
