ActiveX

To insert an ActiveX, click the icon on the Objects panel, or click Insert\media\ Activex on the menu bar. The ActiveX icon appears on the Dreamweaver main window.


Plugin
is the dynamic programming module of Netscape's Navigator Browser application interface (API), which Netscape, through plugin, allows Third-party developers to fully incorporate their products into page pages. Plugin was proposed by Netscape and could only be supported by Netscape's Navigator browser.
To insert Plugin, click the icon on the Objects panel, or click on the Insert\media\ Plugin in the menu bar, and a dialog box pops up. In the dialog box, select the file you want to insert, click OK. The Pligin icon appears on the Dreamweaver main window.


Shockwaveis used to play the multimedia "movie" created on the Web page with the director of Macromedia Company. Shockwave Small movies can incorporate animations, bitmaps, videos and sounds into one, and synthesize them into an interactive interface.
To insert a Shockwave movie, click the icon on the Objects panel, or click on the Insert\media\shockwave in the menu bar, or use the shortcut key ctrl+alt+d to pop up a dialog box. In the dialog box, select the file you want to insert, click OK. The Shockwave icon appears on the Dreamweaver main window.


FlashIntroduced by Macromedia Company, can make the document volume small, the effect gorgeous vector animation. Flash animation is very popular on the Internet at present, and is used in a lot of pages.
To insert a Flash animation, click the icon on the Objects panel, or click Insert\media\ Flash on the menu bar, or use the shortcut key ctrl+alt+f to pop up a dialog box. In the dialog box, select the one you want to insert. SWF file, click OK. The flash icon appears on the Dreamweaver main window. Because Flash is more popular, here is a little more introduction. Select the Flash icon on the page and the properties panel will look like the following image.

The settings for the items on the properties panel are explained below.
Under Shochwave, you can fill in the name of the small movie you are adding to the page.
W is the definition of a small movie in the page display width, Dreamweaver has been automatically filled in the value 32, at this time can be modified.
H is the definition of a small movie in the page display high, Dreamweaver has been automatically filled in the value 32, at this time can be modified.
SRC is the address for setting up this little movie file.
tag is the value that defines the generated HTML tag. Object tags can be supported by Internet explore browsers, and embed tags can be supported by navigator browsers. The Drop-down selection box after the tag has three options--object and EMBED, OBJECT only, and EMBED only. OBJECT and embed are both used by both types of browsers and can be supported simultaneously. Object only uses the OBJECT tag, and Embed only uses the Embed tag.
Align is the alignment of this inserted object with the text.
BgColor is setting the background for this little movie. When a small movie has not been shown, its location will show the background color.
The left side of the panel has a green rightwards small arrow, click Available to play this small movie on the screen for you to preview the effect.
ID to fill in a value that is useful when exchanging information with some ActiveX controls.
Border is the border width of a small movie that defines this insert page.
V space is the distance between the left side of a small movie and other elements of the page to the right of the small movie and the other pages on its right-hand side.
H space is the distance between the top of a small movie and other page elements above it, and the bottom of a small movie and other page elements below it.
Quality is the quality of setting Flash animations. The next Drop-down marquee has low, auto low, Auto high and high four options.
Scale is the setting of the flash screen when the height and width of the set are inconsistent with the original artwork. The following dropdown boxes have default (show All), No border, and exact fit three options. The default value, show all, is shown in the full picture and guarantees the proportions of each part of the image. No border is removed from both sides of the image screen when necessary. Exact Fit is a full picture display, but the picture proportions may vary.
If the selection box before the loop is selected, the animation loops when it is browsed. When you remove the selection box before the loop, the animation plays only once when it is browsed.
When AutoPlay is selected, the animation is played automatically when it is browsed.
Alt img is an alternate image. When the visitor's browser does not support this small movie, it can display this alternate image in the location of the small movie. Alt IMG can only be set when the object only is selected after the tag.
Click the parameters at the bottom right of the properties panel ... button, a dialog box pops up to set the parameter. parameter is a value used to define a named attribute that can be initialized for Flash.


Macromedia'sGeneratorcan produce dynamic page multimedia content. Using generator template, the software can be used to make generator object files. The generator object is added to the page, and the page is processed by the server-side generator software before it is downloaded on the server side.
To insert a Generator object, click the icon on the Objects panel, or click on the Insert\ media\generator in the menu bar to pop up a dialog box. Make the appropriate settings.


SSIis the abbreviation of Server-side includes, that is, the server-side contains. Dreamweaver can be used to add SSI files to the page page, the page is downloaded before the server, the server automatically gives SSI files.
To insert an SSI, click on the icon on the Objects panel, or click on the Insert\media\ SSI in the menu bar to pop up a dialog box to select an external SSI file.
