When you use Excel to work with tabular data, sometimes you need to add content comments to cells of important data, and Excel provides annotations that can easily achieve this effect, and here's how to do it:
To insert a comment:
Click to select the cell or range of cells that you want to add a comment to.
Select the annotation command on the Insert menu, or right-click in the cell that you want to add a comment to, and select Insert Annotation on the shortcut menu that pops up.
Enter an annotation in the Comments dialog box that pops up, as shown in the following illustration:
When you finish entering text content, click the worksheet area outside the annotation box to complete the insert work for the annotation.
View Comments
Excel provides a variety of ways to view annotations. You can display the contents of a cell by resting the mouse over the cell that contains the annotation marker. You can also view it from the comments command on the View menu.
Edit annotations
Click the cell that you want to edit the annotation in.
In the Insert or right-click shortcut menu, select the edit Annotation command to edit the annotation. You can also click the Edit Annotation button on the Reviewing toolbar or edit the annotation.
Delete annotations
There are several ways to do this:
1. You can delete annotations by selecting the Delete Annotation command from the shortcut menu that you want to delete the annotation in the right mouse click.
2, through the "view" → "annotation" command, select the cell that you want to delete the annotation, click the Delete Annotation button on the Reviewing toolbar. As shown in the figure:
3. Select the cell or range of cells you want to delete the annotation, and select edit → clear → annotation to complete.
