SharePoint-you cannot edit the data table view in wss3.0.

Problem description:

Data is published to the moss site list using the report publishing method excel2003 or 2007. After the data is published successfully, you cannot view and edit the data table view.

Error message:

This list is displayed in the standard view. This list cannot be displayed in data table view for one or more reasons: data table components compatible with Windows SharePoint Services are not installed. The browser does not support ActiveX controls, or its support for ActiveX controls is disabled.

Solution:

For Office 2003 professional Editon: 

After asking around in the SharePoint community and finally asking Microsoft support (who turned out to be very helpful-~thanks !), We found the following solution on how to display the Datasheet view:

1. Close Internet Explorer
2. Start-> run... -> "Regedit" (without quotation marks)
3. In the Registry Editor, delete the following folder (sub-key )...
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ ActiveX Compatibility
Sub-key :{65bcbee4-7728-41a0-97be-14e1cae36aae}
4. Start Internet Explorer and open SharePoint content in the Datasheet view

For Office 2007:

Check whether the Office has installed components that are supported by office2007.
