Small and medium-sized enterprise application ADSL Network instance

Currently, among the many Broadband Access Technologies, ADSL stands out and has been widely used in many cities to provide excellent broadband access services for users.

ADSL stands for "asymmetric digital user line" in Chinese. It provides a high-speed downlink rate with a dedicated bandwidth of up to 8 Mbit/s and an uplink rate of 1 Mbit/s through common telephone lines, because of the incomparable advantages of traditional dial-up Internet access and ISDN, ADSL is gradually becoming more and more familiar and applied. The following describes two ADSL-based network instances I have actually participated in.

Example 1: A foreign-invested enterprise located in Shanghai has applied for the ADSL access service. To share the Internet with all office computers, install a firewall. We have selected Shanghai Bell's ADSL modem, Nusoft new soft) IS-104 router with Firewall Service) and DFE-908S eight port hub and other network hardware equipment, and designed the network scheme. See figure 1.

First, connect the power of each hardware device. Second, insert the telephone LINE into the LINE port of the modem and use an Ethernet cable that is not crossover) to connect the Ethernet port of the modem to the WAN port of the router, some people say that this is a cross ethernet cable. However, in the above networking instance, it is not a cross ethernet cable. Then, a non-crossover ethernet cable is used to connect the LAN port of the router to the UpLink port of the hub, you can also use a cross-Ethernet line to connect the LAN port of the router to the common port of the hub. Finally, use an ethernet cable that is non-crossover) to connect the common port of the hub to the NIC of the computer. Note that if you have applied the UpLink port of the hub, the No. 1 common port of the hub cannot be used at the same time. After the cables are connected, observe the panel indicators of the routers and hubs to check whether the network connection is correct.

Next, we will start setting. Set the IP address of each computer to automatically get, the DNS address to automatically get, and the gateway is empty. Then, run the IPCONFIG command at the DOS prompt. If the IP address such as 192.168.1.X is obtained and the gateway is 192.168.1.1, the router works properly. Open the browser and enter: http: // 192.168.1.1, enter the vro management interface, enter the password to log on, set the PPOE mode in the SETUP option, and fill in the username and password of the ADSL dial-up. After storing the information, restart the vro, in the Information option, click Connect. Soon, you will find that you have already accessed the Internet by dialing. In this case, other computers can also access the internet. For more information about firewall settings, see the manual. To implement the Print Sharing Scheme in example 2, you need to purchase other routers with printing services, such as the FR3004LC router of Asante blue genie.

Example 2: A software sales enterprise has just been established. Therefore, when networking, it is required to reduce the cost as much as possible. Therefore, we did not choose a hardware router, instead, we installed Wingate software on a PC for employees to implement the functions of the hardware router. It also selects network hardware such as the ADSL modem of Zhongxing and Lenovo's hub, and designs the following networking scheme for it. See figure 2.

The key to this networking lies in the Wingate software settings, which is troublesome. However, there are many online Wingate teaching articles and we will not repeat them here.
