Q: What is the software life cycle? Compare the advantages and disadvantages of waterfall model, rapid prototyping model, incremental model and helix model, and explain the scope of application of each model.

A: The software life cycle consists of three periods of software definition, software development and operation maintenance, and each period is further divided into several stages.

Tasks in the software-defined period: Determine the overall objectives (problem definition) that the software development project must complete, determine the feasibility of the project (feasibility analysis), and determine the functions that the system must complete (demand analysis).

Development period: Overall design, detailed design, coding and unit testing, comprehensive testing.

Operation Maintenance Period: Make the software durable to meet the needs of users.

Waterfall Model:

Advantages: It is advantageous to the organization and management of the personnel in the process of large-scale software development, which is beneficial to the research of software development methods and tools, thus improving the quality and efficiency of large-scale software project development.

Cons: 1. The development process is generally irreversible;

2. Actual development is difficult to follow the model;

3. Customers can not give a complete and accurate model;
