Network sharing to our file transfer has brought great convenience, especially in the local area network, sharing is frequently used. Colleagues can easily exchange files between each other, sharing hard drives, optical areas, printers, and so on. However, sometimes sharing can also bring us trouble, such as important information leakage, computer network security problems. This requires us to set up or come out, let's take a look at a few sharing tips.

For simple sharing, I think we all know how to build and cancel, also know how to use, but how to according to their own needs to share the file set a certain degree of concealment, this is a lot of friends do not know the problem.

A. Delete the traces left by the shared file

When we share a folder, we cancel the share after we use it, but in our network Places we can still see traces of shared folders. At some point, we don't need to, so we can remove the traces left. To do this: Open Registry Editor, and in turn, locate the Key_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/network/lanman branch in the interface ; then expand the Lanman subkey, and then select the shared folder that you just deleted from under the subkey, right-click it, execute Delete from the pop-up shortcut menu, click OK, and then close the Registry Editor, and in My Network Places You can't see the traces of deleted folders.

Second, delete the system default shared document

After we have installed the Windows system, several shares are set up by default and the default shared document is deleted. When we open My Network Places, we can browse the contents of the workstation. If we cancel the system's default shared document, people won't be browsing the shared files on our computer. However, the common deletion method is not able to delete the shared document. The method is as follows: Open Registry Editor, find: hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/explorer/mycomputer/namespace/ Delegatefolders registry subkey, expand the Delegatefolders branch with the mouse, select the option under the Branch, right-click it, execute the Delete command from the pop-up shortcut menu, and then turn off the editor.

Third, remove the shared folder "small hand"

We all know that after sharing a folder, a printer or a hard disk, the folder, the printer or the hard disk will appear in the blue "small hands" like the share icon, if someone saw this logo, you know is a shared folder, you can access through the network. If you don't want other people to see which folders or files are shared on your computer, you can cancel the "small hand" icon for the shared file or folder.

To do this: Open Registry Editor, locate the Hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/networklanman subkey, and then expand the Lanman subkey, Then select a destination shared folder name, such as "Share $", and then in the right area, select the Flags option and double-click it, adjust the previous value to "302", and then click OK to restart the computer. So that you can browse through the network. In addition, before you delete a folder share flag, it is a good idea to add the "$" symbol after the printer share name to hide the shared folder or printer so that others cannot browse it.
