1. Download the source code

https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/

2. Unzip

Tar zxvf linux-3.8.8.tar.gz

3. Enter the extracted directory

cd/usr/src/linux-3.8.8

The following commands all use sudo permissions

4. Build the configuration file

Make Oldconfigure

5. Compile (Takes a long time)

Make

6. Install module, upgrade kernel

Make Modules_install Install
