There are strict rules on whether to use uppercase letters or lowercase letters for various Unit symbols: the first letter of a unit symbol from a person's name must use uppercase letters (or only one uppercase letter), for example: hz (HZ), V (volt), A (ampere), PA (Pascal) and so on. Except for one special character, other Unit symbols that are not derived from a person's name must use lower-case letters, such as m, G, and S, there is only one special case. This is the symbol "litre". In cases that are easy to be confused with Arabic numerals 1, uppercase letters l must be used. For example, 5 litre must be written as 5l, in cases where it is not easy to confuse Arabic numerals 1, both uppercase and lowercase can be used, for example, 5 ml can be written as 5 ml.
In addition, there are also strict rules on the Character headers that indicate the rate relationship. For example, one thousand must use a lower-case K instead of a upper-case K. Some errors may cause ambiguity, for example, MW (MW), MW (MW), MΩ (ML), MΩ (M Ω), nm (Newton meter, torque Unit), and nm (nano, length unit) is less.
According to the above rules, kW (kW) is written as kW, kWh is written as kWh or kWh, KM is written as km or km, mm (mm) writing data as mm or mm is not standard. This phenomenon is common in society. It is recommended that the teachers tell students to use them in a standardized manner to develop good habits and rigorous style.
Case-sensitivity rules for common electric power units
In our work, we often encounter many people who make mistakes in the size of commonly used power metering units. For example, Kv is written as KV, or KV is written as KV, which is not standardized, the following describes the size of frequently-used measurement unit letters.
Common metering units and their case sensitivity:
A. voltage kV, resistance kΩ, current Ma, μA, ka, active power kW, reactive power kvar, apparent power kVA, capacitance F, P, μF, frequency Hz, etc. K, M, μ, VAR, P, and Z are all lowercase letters, while others are uppercase letters.
M in B. MΩ, mW, mvar, MVA, and MPA are uppercase letters.
C. many authors are usually case insensitive. For example, they write "Ma (MA)" and "MW (MW)" in "Ma (MA )", that's a big mistake.
Processing of foreign letters
Uppercase/lowercase letters of foreign languages, positive italics, upper and lower corner labels, must be clearly written, and the difference is obvious. For example, KW, kWh, kVA, kvar, ka, Ma, micro-anμa, kΩ, MΩ, micro-method μF, PF, zhaopapmpa, sulfur six, and so on.
