Relay: I believe many people know things. Relay, as the name implies, receives the signal and continues sending it out.

In other words, the signal is accepted and then sent out.

Let's roughly describe how to set the relay and bridge:

The relay settings are similar. They all accept the wireless signal of the master route, divide the IP address pool by themselves, and then send it out.

For example, the IP address pool of the master route is 192.168.1.100 ~ 192.168.1.200

The router of the relay needs to set the IP address of the WAN port to the IP address in the IP address pool.

Then, the IP address pool of the LAN port is set to another network segment. For example, you can set 192.168.2.1 ~ 192.168.2.100.

As long as it is not in the same IP segment as the master route, This is generally the case.

A friend who has played the second-level route should support the second-level route settings. Imagine whether it is the same as the relay settings?

Yes, it is actually the same! That is to say, relay is equivalent to using wireless second-level routing. Of course, the second-level routing is wired, and wireless is called Relay!

 

The configuration of bridging is also very simple. As mentioned above, the relay setting is a secondary route, and the bridging setting is the switch AP connected to the route.

But it is a little different from the exchange, wired transmission only needs to disable DHCP to implement the exchange function. However, wireless networks need to use wireless networks as bridges to achieve switching.

For example, the IP address pool of the master route is 192.168.1.100 ~ 192.168.1.200,

Then, the lan ip address of the bridge route must be set in the IP address pool of the master route, such as 192.168.1.2, and DHCP is disabled.

We can bridge the data to the router at the upper level.

DHCP can also be disabled to prevent IP address conflicts.

 

So we know the working principle of relay and bridge connections, and we are still worried about secondary and bridge connections ............

The above theory can be summarized as follows: Relay routes are wireless second-level routes, while bridging routes are wireless switches.

I believe many people can understand this.

 

Many people may wonder why the signal of the relay is strong while that of the bridge is weak?

This problem is actually closely related to the internal structure of the router.

We usually use dd to relay the relay route. So why is dd signal good? This depends on the modified part of the route.

We can see that all the routes we modified have been converted to antennas, and many people did not pay attention to this. In fact, the key part is this.

The signal of the bridge route is weak because the antenna is not changed. In this case, some people may not understand this. Only those who have modified it will know this mystery.

 

Wireless routers usually have two antennas. The single-antenna router we see is actually two.

The antenna we see is an external antenna. There is also an antenna that we cannot see. It can be called a built-in antenna on the PCB of a router.

Why is the bridge Signal weak? This is an important issue.

How can I bridge a small antenna to compare it with the external antenna of the relay? It must be that the external signal is overwhelming.

 

If you want to bridge the router signal well, we only need to simply connect the external antenna interface to the built-in antenna interface.

However, there is a consequence that such an approach will lead to a weak signal and a strong signal to be accepted.

We want to accept the signal. Of course, you have to pay this price.

Of course, if we have SMA connectors. It is also possible to directly pick up another antenna, which depends on the individual.

After you have welded the antenna, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that even if we bridge the signal, the signal is also a lever!

What is the comparison with relay? Oh, it should be in the middle!
