IE 5.0:

Go to the registry and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\intalled components\{89820200- ecbd-11cf-8b85-00aa005b4383}, change the DWORD value of IsInstalled to 0, reboot, add delete component, remove IE, restart, download the latest version, install it.
