To Tp-link td-w89841n This router to explain, first into the "System Management" > "Management Control", the remote management open, and fill out a port for the future remote management of their own network (I do not fill out the default 80 port, for security reasons, for a separate, How much can be secured a little).

Enter the "Dynamic DNS" setting interface, fill in the peanut Shell DDNS username and password to log in, the below will appear you set the dynamic domain name. The so-called DDNS is the dynamic Domain name resolution service, if you like me to use dial-up Internet, every time the internet will be assigned by the operator different public IP address, then you need to use DDNS to help you map a domain name to your public IP, This way you can access your local area network and the devices in your local area network through the domain name, which also includes the computer you want to access. Peanut Shell DDNS service is completely free, select the domain name when you can choose the free domain like me, it is stable enough to meet the needs of ordinary home users.

Next, in order to verify the dynamic domain name and the remote management function of the router, we need to find another host on the Internet to access the dynamic domain name. The simplest way is to use your own smartphone, using 3G Internet (do not connect your home WiFi) in the browser to enter our dynamic domain name and the previously set port number "8088".

If everything is OK, the router's Password verification page appears, which means that our dynamic domain name and router remote management are available.

Because we want to configure Port forwarding (which is later used to configure the remote wake-up feature), we need to have the same IP address each time the computer is powered on, and we can configure DHCP static IP address assignment. Go to "DHCP Server" > "Static Address Assignment" and click "Add new Entry".

First we need to get to the computer network card MAC address, through the DHCP client list to find the corresponding MAC address is the most direct method, but you can also on this computer through the command to see the MAC address of your network card. , using the "ifconfig-a" command in Mac OS, you can obtain the MAC address of the wired network card "10:dd:b1:**:* *:b0", and the command for Windows users is "Ipconfig/all".

Fill in the corresponding location of the acquired MAC address, then fill in the static IP address that needs to be assigned, other default, click Save.

Note: We do not need to make any changes to the operating system of the computer, keep your network card is set to "Get dynamic IP address through DHCP", and assign fixed IP work to the router to complete it!

Next, an entry with a MAC address of "10:dd:b1:**:* *:b0" and a status of "in effect" appears in the list. This way the next time the NIC requests an IP address, the router assigns it the "192.168.1.20" address.


When we add a static address assignment rule to the DHCP service, some branded routers automatically add static ARP bindings to it. This has many advantages, one can prevent other users in the network to manually configure the IP to preempt our reserved IP address, and to avoid some malicious software and virus ARP spoofing attacks, make the whole network more secure. So I recommend that friends who do not automatically add ARP bindings manually add the corresponding binding rules.

By clicking on "IP and Mac Bindings" > "Static ARP Binding Settings", turn on the ARP binding function on the right and save it, then click "Add New Entry".

Fill in our MAC address and IP address and tick "bind" to save.

In this way, the list of static ARP bindings will have more entries that we just added.

After configuring the router, back to our computer to reactivate the network card, you can see the IP address has been updated to "192.168.1.20", indicating that our settings for the router take effect.

As for how to reactivate the NIC, Mac OS x commands are "sudo ifconfig en0 down" and "sudo ifconfig en0 up", while Windows command is "Ipconfig/renew" and a troublesome friend can restart the computer directly.

Next we add port forwarding rules, the corresponding function in the Tp-link router is "virtual server", while some brand routers may be directly called "Port forwarding", but in any case they realize the function is identical. Here we'll start by assuming that UDP packets are forwarded using port 6th (which is OK to use, just don't conflict with other services), and then I'll talk about how to configure the port number in the TeamViewer client.

Click "Forwarding Rules" > "Virtual Server", then click "Add New Entry".

To configure our forwarding rules, we forward UDP packets received on port 6th to "192.168.1.20".





After saving, we have this forwarding rule in our list, when all UDP protocol packets from the Internet attempting to access Port 6th will be forwarded to our host. However, with proper configuration, we can let the computer boot itself when the NIC receives the UDP packet, which is the basic principle of remote wake!


The so-called "proper configuration", on the Mac, is to turn on the "Power saver" in System Preferences and tick "wake for network access".

For PC, it is necessary to activate "LAN Wakeup" function in the BIOS, and each time Wakeup is like you press the Host power button, the motherboard is powered, self-checked, booted, into the operating system ...

It is necessary to note that the PC remote boot condition is the host power connectivity, the network card has been connected to the network cable, the BIOS opens the "LAN Wakeup" function, and this time the operating system can be in a completely off state.

However, the MAC does not support remote boot, it only supports remote wake-up, which means it can only be awakened from sleep and cannot be started from shutdown.

It's easy to understand why, because Apple did a lot of work when it was designing Mac computers, and it was designed to allow users to continue working on their computers in a matter of seconds, regardless of when they tapped the keyboard.

If you also buy an Apple computer, it is recommended that you change the habits that you develop on Windows. Because the Mac OS has been running for a long time without a noticeable decrease in system performance, and the Macintosh itself consumes very little power, the sleep consumption is even less expensive, so there is no need to shut down the computer for daily use, which is similar to the ipad.

Again, how to configure TeamViewer, we in the software "preferences", click on the "General" tab of the "Wake On LAN" feature of the "Configure" button.

In the popup dialog box, fill in our dynamic Domain name with the port number "6" and save the settings.

Here, all the configuration is done, and all we have to do is verify our results on the Internet.

First, Mac os point "top left corner of Apple logo" > "hibernate", Windows Dot "flag in bottom Left" > "Shut Down".

Enter the mobile phone TeamViewer APP, note that we still want to use 3G connection network, we will see this host is offline, and on the right more than a "power switch" like button.

We try to click this button, we will soon find that their computer has been remote wake up, then the app pops up the host on-line prompt, asked if we want to connect.

After selecting "Connect", we need to enter TeamViewer's unattended remote control password.
