The front panel displays the indicators used to indicate the working status of the device. The indicators are M1, M2, and four LAN ports and WAN port indicators from left to right. Hardware Installation

Before debugging a wireless router, you need to check the hardware equipment. The hardware installation of the router is easy to implement. After everything is ready, you can assemble the hardware by following the steps below.

1. Connect the network cable to the NIC of each computer in the LAN, and Connect the other end of the network cable to the LAN interface in the rear panel of the router. 2. Connect the ADSL Broadband network cable to the WAN port behind the router.
3. Insert the power supply into the power port behind the router. After the hardware is installed, turn on the power to start the computer.

Preparations before vro Configuration

Before debugging a wireless router, you need to make some preparations. You must confirm what the broadband access method is like? The bandwidth router provides multiple Internet Configuration modes, such as static IP, dynamic IP, and PPPOE, which must be configured according to the actual usage. If you are using residential broadband, you need to set static IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, preferred DNS servers, and backup DNS servers; if you are using ADSL, You need to select the PPPOE mode and set the user name and password. 1. Select a machine in the configured LAN, right-click "Network neighbors", select "properties", and double-click the "local connection" icon in the displayed window, in the new window, click "properties", select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", and click "properties;

2. In the pop-up window, select "Use the following IP Address" and enter 192 in the text box after "ip address. 168. 1. XX range: 2-254); enter 255 next to "subnet mask. 255. 255. 0; enter 192 after "Default Gateway. 168. 1. 1. After entering the information, click the "OK" button twice. Note: The debugging methods for wireless routers of different brands are different, and the setting methods are different, before configuring a vro, you must read the vro instructions carefully and follow the methods described in the instructions. In this example, the TL-R410 router factory default settings: "IP Address: 192.168.1.X; subnet mask: 255.255.255.0; user name and password: admin, admin ".

3. Check the communication between the computer and the router. Click the start button and select the run option. In the text box on the Right of open, enter Ping 192.168.1.1, click OK.

4. If the following data appears after you click "OK", the connection between the computer and the router is successful. If the following information is not displayed, it may be caused by improper connection of the hardware device, you need to check the connection status of the hardware device and diagnose the cause based on the actual situation.

Understanding the router's main management interface

Through the above method, we have successfully connected the computer to the vro. Then we can set the vro through the management interface of the vro. So how do I enter the main management interface of the router?

1. Open IE, enter 192. 168. 1. 1. 1 in the address bar, and press Enter. A dialog box asking you to enter your username and password is displayed. Enter the user name and password in the user manual for wireless router debugging: admin and admin;

2. Click OK to enter the Master management interface of the TP-LINK TL-R410 router. In the menu column on the left of the router's main management interface, there are a series of management options. With these options, you can manage and control the operation of the router.

Basic vro settings

1. Enter the vro management interface. You can also click the "setting wizard" option in the left-side menu on the vro main management interface for the first time. A "setting wizard" interface is displayed, click "Next;

2. WAN port settings. In the pop-up "WAN Port Settings" interface, you need to select the Internet access method as needed. This is an extremely important step. Because I use the monthly subscription ADSL Broadband Service, select the "PPPOE" option in the drop-down menu of "WAN port connection type, in the "Internet account" and "Internet password" dialog boxes, enter the corresponding user name and password. Because ADSL can automatically allocate IP addresses and DNS servers, these two items are not entered. Directly in the corresponding connection mode, select the "Automatic Connection" option, so that the computer can be connected to the network as soon as it is started, greatly increasing the office efficiency. It should be noted that if you are not a monthly subscription user, we recommend that you use "manual connection" to avoid overspending the network fee. After setting, click "save" to save the setting.

3. Set the DHCP function for wireless router debugging. DHCP is a special function of the router. Using DHCP, we can avoid errors caused by manual IP Address Setting and subnet mask, it also avoids address conflicts caused by assigning an IP address to multiple workstations. Using DHCP can not only greatly shorten the time required to configure or reconfigure the workstation on the network, but also flexibly set the address lease period through setting the DHCP server. Click the "DHCP server" option on the left side of the interface. In the "DHCP Settings" window that appears, click "enable. The options for "address pool start address" and "address pool end address" are 192.168.1.X and 192.168.1.YX <Y respectively. Note that X cannot be 0, 1, or Y cannot be 255 ), here, we can enter the 4th IP address segment. Click "save" after setting. After the above settings, you only need to open any computer in the LAN and start the IE browser, you can share resources and surf the Internet.

MAC Address binding

At present, some bureaus use the MAC address binding method to prevent users from sharing the Internet. We can solve this problem through the "clone MAC address" function, enter the MAC address of the network adapter connected to the line, and click "clone MAC address", so that the MAC address will be copied to achieve the goal of multi-machine Internet sharing.

Common router Functions

Now you can access the Internet normally. The functions of a router are not just as simple as network sharing. When using a router, You can monitor and manage the Internet access of computers in the LAN, by opening up different permissions, some computers are controlled to shield some websites and E-mails. Firewall functions

Click the "Security Settings" option on the left side of the interface, and select "firewall settings" from the expanded menu. On the "firewall settings" page that appears, you can see that this is a general switch setting page, if you do not select a function that is not used, do not check the option. If you check the option, this function is enabled. Under the "firewall's general switch", there are several vro's filtering settings, which contain two "Default filtering rules". What is "Default filtering rules? On the specific rule settings page, we define specific rules to control and process qualified data packets. The "Default rule" here is the name suggests, what should we do if the Custom Rules do not contain non-conforming data packets? Next, let's explain it.

IP address filtering

On the "ip address filtering" Page, We can edit and add the "default filter rule" and click the "Add new entry" button to go to the specific rule setting page; on the specific rule settings page, we can limit that one IP address in the LAN is 192. 168. 1. 10 computer, can only log on to the www.tp-link.com.cn this website, other websites can not log on. Follow this rule to set the following: Enter the IP address of the computer to be restricted 192 after "lan ip Address. 168. 1. 10, after the wan ip address, enter the public IP address corresponding to the www.tp-link.com.cn domain name you want to log on to 202. 96. 137. 26. Because it is for the website, the WAN port number is set to 80, the "protocol" is ALL by default, and the "pass" is disabled by default, because the default rule prohibits data packets that do not comply with the rules from passing through the vro, the data packets that comply with the rules are allowed to pass, and the "status" is set to take effect. After the rule is set, click "save; after the rule is saved, it is displayed in the filter rule entry. You can click "modify" and "delete" next to it to adjust its running status.

Domain Name Filtering

Domain Name filtering is a special feature in wireless router debugging. To enable the firewall function of a router, check and save it before "Enable Domain Name filtering, on the "Domain Name filtering" page, you can edit and add the domain name to be filtered. On the specific rule settings page, add us to prohibit the internal lan from receiving hotmail emails. You can perform the following operations: click "Add new entry" to go to the specific rule settings page, enter the hotmail domain name in the "Domain Name" box, and select "status" to take effect. Click "save" to confirm the settings. Then, you can see the configured rules on the "Domain Name filtering" page, now, computers in the LAN cannot log on to hotmail to receive emails.
