The first remote access trojan targeting Android, Linux, Mac, and Windows
Avast researchers reported the first remote access trojan OmniRAT targeting Android, Linux, Mac, and Windows desktops and mobile platforms. The developer sold the trojan at a price ranging from $25 to $50 on his website. The security company also reported a German Android user infection case: an attacker sent a text message, falsely claiming that the text message was a multimedia message, because the Stagefright vulnerability cannot be sent directly. The Stagefright vulnerability does not prevent sending of MMS, but uses MMs. After clicking the link in the text message, the user will download an application mms-einst8923, there is a prompt of access sensitive permissions before installation, but the victim is still installed. After installation, Trojan will send the collected user data to the Russian server.
