My Site Host

User picture

Personal site

It is also necessary to consider that each user's site requires storage space. Administrators should decide how much content database to allocate, in order to avoid running out of disk space, according to the current number of organizations and the future growth rate, the size of each personal site. According to the requirements of SharePoint, a content database should not exceed 200GB, then administrators should also create multiple content database as needed.

By default, the quota of personal site is 100MB, and administrators can adjust as needed.

User profile

User profile is essential for all social functions, so you need to import userprofile from ad into SharePoint before using SharePoint. This requires that you first create a user profile Service application. When you create a user ProfileService application, you need to create three database:

• Profile Database: Stores the profiles of users. You need to plan the database space based on how much the user is, and how much the profile property is.
• Synchronization database: Stores the source-side information of the synchronized data, such as the connection information of the ad.
• Social Tagging Database: storing Socialtags and notes
