The usage idea of Picasa and a rough investigation of several other graphic software

I recently used Picasa, which has a long name, and it feels pretty good. It is said that Picasa was originally a paid software of Picasa. Google was lucky enough to buy it for free. I used Picasa 3.6. I used ACDSee 4.0 (I don't know why it is always a system error recently) and tried the latest ACDSee pro 3.

The Picasa interface is pretty nice. Browsing Images and modifying images seem faster than ACDSee pro 3. After all, I felt that Picasa was more comfortable and decided to use it to manage images. (In fact, ACDSee pro 3 also has some special characteristics, which will be discussed later)

 

I. Use of Picasa

1. Import images

The basic storage method of images is the resource manager folder, which is stored layer by year, month, and location. The folder in Picasa represents the actual folder containing photos on the hard drive of the computer.

 

2. share images

You can create albums for specific topics for future browsing. Occasionally, you can define a special magic light playing mode (with background music) for the album, which can also be saved; you can also make these settings into a small movie (with the Movie Maker function) and share them with friends and friends. In addition, you can use the collage function to share photos on the Forum (both in frame mosaic and stacked form ).

Album: Unlike folders, the album only exists in Picasa. You can create an album that contains photos in Multiple folders. Unlike the Picasa folder, the album does not correspond to the folder in the hard drive. When you delete or move the photo in the album, the original file is still stored in the original location of the hard drive.

3. Search for images

Album, slides, small movies, and stickers do not affect the original images, but only the Organization and performance of a group of images selected on the hard disk. How to find the group of images you want to display requires the search function. Mainly search by text: as long as the file name, folder name, tags, caption, and name tags contain the corresponding text, you can find it; in addition, you can also find photos of your stars (that is, images of your favorite are added with the star icon). You can also find repeated photos.

You can view thumbnails in library mode, or double-click an image to switch to image modification mode.
In thumbnail mode, there is a Magnifier tool. Click it and zoom in wherever the mouse stops.
In thumbnail mode, hover the mouse over a thumbnail, press CTRL + ALT, and the current image is displayed in full screen immediately. Release these two keys and immediately restore the thumbnail browsing mode.

5. Edit Images
Cropping: you can cut out parts that you don't want to see in the photo, such as a large blank area or an image of your ex-girlfriend.

Brightness, contrast, saturation, color temperature, color balance, and color bias. I do not understand the meaning of these concepts on the visual effects of images, so the corresponding modification tools are also useless to me.
You can edit images in batches.

6. Image tagging

To facilitate search, you should add appropriate tags (various tags), caption (title), and name tags (name recognized faces) when adding new photos ), start a meaningful file name.

The facial recognition technology of Picasa can work well. Photos of the same angle on the front can be recognized, but those of different angles and styles cannot be recognized. Zhou Xun and Li xiaoran will be recognized as the same person.

7. Back up images

It seems that Picasa will automatically save the changes to the image as a copy, and save the original in another hidden folder. When backing up an image, be careful with the bending. If you want to know whether to back up the original or the one you modified, you need different settings.

I think it is more scientific to make preliminary edits and sorting on the new photos on the local hard disk in the form of a photo library; then regularly back up and finally modify them to the mobile hard disk, and delete the backed up items (including original images) of the local hard disk ). To be safe, you can synchronize the backup to two mobile hard disks.
