Thumbs.db is a system file detailed _ Application skills

Q: I open Show hidden files in the folder options in Explorer, and then I see a thumbs.db file in many folders.
The deletion of this file has no effect, but it sometimes appears. What is this file, is it the traces of the virus?
A: Thumbs.db is by no means a virus, but a database file, it can generally be found in a folder with pictures, and its volume increases with the number of pictures in the folder.
In fact, the Thumbs.db file is like a cached file that speeds up the preview of pictures, and does nothing to harm the system.
If you don't want to see the file again, you can select the View tab in the Folder Options window.
Then select the Do not cache thumbnails option in the Advanced Settings list, and the thumbnail cache file Thumbs.db is disabled when the OK button is pressed.
