Tomcat Installation and Configuration

1. Download the installation file

Download the corresponding version of the official website, for example: Apache-tomcat-8.0.35-windows-x64.zip

2. Specify the appropriate installation directory:

Example: D:\JavaSoft\apache-tomcat-8.0.35

3. Configure Environment variables

New system variable, name: Catalina_home, Value: D:\JavaSoft\apache-tomcat-8.0.35

Append to path variable, value [;%catalina_home%\lib;%catalina_home%\bin;]

4. Start the Tomcat service

A. Run the cmd command: Startup, the Tomcat dialog box appears, indicating that the service started successfully.

B. Run the cmd command: services.msc, locate the Apache Tomcat service, modify the startup type

5. Test Tomcat

Input: http://localhost:8080/, the default JSP page appears, which means the installation is successful!
