Installation Guide Ubuntu/ubuntu Kylin 14.04 LTS version simply double-click the downloaded Deb package to install the Sogou input method directly. Ubuntu 12.04 lts version because Ubuntu 12.04 Lts comes with an older version of FCITX, you need to upgrade via PPA before installing the downloaded Deb package. 1. Click the icon in the top left corner to open dash, enter Update-manager, and click Update Manager. 2. In the Update Manager, choose Menu: edit-Software source, click Add ... button, enter ppa:fcitx-team/nightly in the pop-up window ,
Click Add Source. 3. Then click Reload. 4. Open Ubuntu Software Center, enter FCITX in the search bar , will search out FCITX, and then follow the general software installation steps to complete the upgrade. 5. Double-click the downloaded Deb package to install the Sogou IME.
