The fourth beta version of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron was released ──alpha4.
This version adds a lot of features to the update of the underlying library, as well as adding some of the new components that were described earlier.

Vinagre VNC Client
Vinagre is an easy-to-use, powerful VNC client and is now officially included in Ubuntu 8.04. Vinagre can connect multiple remote machines at the same time, use tab paging management, and it can discover servers on the network through Avahi and support favorite connections.
Brasero Disc Burning
Brasero as a Nautilus CD burner and serpentine complement and replacement, is a more powerful CD-ROM recording tool. It is also being integrated into the Ubuntu 8.04 desktop.
World Clock Applet

Gvfs back end
This may be the biggest improvement for Ubuntu 8.04. The GVFS virtual file layer is used in Nautilus to replace the obsolete gnome VFS. In the near future, Nautilus will be able to recover files from the Recycle Bin, suspend or undo file operations, and use PolicyKit to authenticate file operations. Nautilus has been greatly enhanced in the new GNOME environment.
