Digitalocean, a start-up company, is rapidly becoming a household name in the United States. With $5 a month, the company will allow you to enjoy a virtual private server (or droplets, as many companies call it). Ben Uretsky, co-founder and chief executive of the company, told TechCrunch's correspondent that he was confident that he would accept any challenge in the field as long as he was focused on simplicity, speed and keeping prices low. And Uretsky and his co-founders have worked in dedicated servers for more than 15 years and have had enough experience in server management and hosting related businesses.

As a fast-growing IaaS service provider, Digitalocean has not cloned the "IaaS Giants" Amazon AWS Services. True, Amazon Web services are also very difficult to replicate, and the configuration is very complex. But Ben Uretsky that, in comparison, what Digitalocean has is "simple".
figure: in the past six months, Digitalocean has developed rapidly
The cloud hosting service provider, established in 2012, features a fast SSD server, which claims to be able to build a cloud server in 55 seconds, all of which have a 1G network interface and a monthly base package of 1TB traffic, out of a portion of 2 cents (per GB).
Digitalocean provides virtual network services based on SSD storage, billed on an hourly basis. One of the cheapest options (virtual machines) costs less than 1 cents per hour, just around 1/3 of the best price for the Amazon network.
Digitalocean does not use Amazon's price-cutting model to play the game. In his view, the price reduction may be some "unimportant things." After all, Digitalocean's lowest level of service--512 MB of memory, a GB SSD storage, a single-core virtual server-costs $5 per month.
Digitalocean launched its own service last year and now has more than 35,000 customers, but many of them are individual developers, but also include companies such as Flywheel and Newsblur. Now the company wants to continue to expand its infrastructure and introduce more services to respond to customer needs.
IA Ventures led the $3.2 million seed finance round, and Digitalocean announced the news in Wednesday. The New York-based startup, which thrives in a crowded market, is also critical to its future development.
Digitalocean currently has three data centers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, New York and San Francisco in the United States. "We have strong demand in South America, Brazil and Asia, so we want to build new data centers in these geographies," says Uretsky. "Now, the company is launching a private network service in its data center, which is considering using the S3 style in AWS, supporting IPV6, and considering deploying CDN services."
As the helm of a smaller IaaS provider, Uretsky felt quite proud. He believes that the rapid response to customer requirements will become more and more important, after all, more and more manufacturers have entered the field. A lot of users loyal to Digitalocean are looking for their concise features, Digitalocean also want to expand their user base, and develop more features, this is a new challenge!
