User Management system, PHP project development silver Bullet?

The silver bullet is a special weapon for supernatural monsters such as werewolves. Later, it was also likened to an extremely effective solution, as a killer, the strongest kill recruit, Ace and so on McCartney.

As a developer with a few years of experience in PHP development, my daily job is to develop PHP projects based on the TP framework. I have always been dedicated to independent development, including the most basic user management and back-office management system. The thing that bothers me most is authority management, user's login registration and so on. The requirements for each project are different, so the way I use it is to fix the changes and maintain my own user management system. Then apply to various projects.

Until one day, I saw a new open source project in the OSC--open Center PHP User Management system. Let me suddenly produce a kind of brief encounter feeling.

Why do I have this feeling?

First, OC follows the Apache2.0 Open source protocol, which is the same protocol as TP. Has dispelled my doubts about copyright.

Moreover, as a user management system, it provides a more complete user registration process, including a variety of registration methods, such as mobile phone number registration, email registration, user name registration, but also support authenticity verification, visible development team sincerity.

In addition, its user rights management efforts, also visible, the development team called inherit from Onethink, I have also used Onethink in the project, found OC or there is a very different place, it also joined the front desk Authority management.

In order to give a reference to the general Tper, I particularly took Onethink and OC for a comparison.

1. Open Source Agreement

Both are based on Apache2.0, nothing to compare.

2. System Framework

Both are based on the thinkphp. But OC is based on Onethink, which makes me wonder. Because on the surface, it's hard to see that the two systems are the same kernel. But after the study, we found something in common. OC has a very strong onethink gene.

Front end, OC uses Zui, is a more daring attempt (as far as I know, Zui is bootstrap an improved version, learning cost is relatively low), onethink more traditional, using bootstrap.

3. System Focus

Onethink focuses on content management, which can be seen from the back-end structure. The navigation bar can be seen in the Content Management section, the content management part of the function is also beginning to prototype.

OC focus on user management, so the background navigation has no content management part, compared with the feature is, the navigation part of the "modular" concept highlighted, the left column dedicated to the module, but also support the module of the loading and unloading, this should be said to be a relatively big improvement.

OC also has a more prominent feature, is to support the use of PHP to build a background management page, this is like me, not too many front-end experience of back-end developers, is the greatest attraction. With the Adminbuilder class library, you can build the admin page with pure PHP. And the more bullish developers themselves improved a set of adminbuilder for the front desk.

4. Foreground function

In this respect, both provide a basic demo, onethink that provides a blog form of demo. While OC is more thorough, it only provides a demo module and a demo home page. However, the default style of OC is even smaller and fresher, and it may have something to do with using the ZUI framework as the front end.

Onethink registration is not a complete process. In this respect, OC is doing well. Various forms of registration login, third-party landing, but also support the cutting of Avatar, extension fields, password modification and other functions. It is worth mentioning that OC also provides a message mechanism, after the study, the discovery is based on polling technology implementation, here, I think there is room to improve. But the basic can meet my needs.

5. Expansion

Speaking of expansion, I think Onethink still do a better job, Onethink have more developers contribute plug-ins, is a relatively large competitive advantage. And OC, because just out, there is no support, but I try to onethink plug-in to the OC, found that it is better compatible, after all, the father-son relationship is placed there.

But the official OC is also a relatively hard work, providing some built-in plug-in, than chip watermark, space, such as skin changes. It is worth mentioning that the development team has improved some of the onethink third-party plugins and still retain the author, a little more noble than some so-called "sharing spirit".

6. Documentation

This piece of documentation, I personally feel that OC does not have the ability to compare with Onethink. First of all, OC's documentation is not complete, this is a sore point of OC it. Although the development team provided an offline document, it was not detailed. It's a lot worse than Onethink. However, the group inside the daily update progress, is also good.

7. Developer

In fact, the comparison of the OC is not fair, after all, a year before the first release, and Onethink has been released for a couple of years. But personally think, OC as a user management system, or promising, after all, not every developer likes to develop and maintain a set of user management system, there is a ready-to-use project will be more convenient.

8. Summary

Through the comparison of two open source projects, I do not know whether everyone knows. From my personal point of view, no matter black Cat white cat, can catch mouse is good cat, see demand!

My personal choice of advice:

1. If you are a CMS class project, then preferred Onethink, this undoubtedly, after all, OC, there is no module expansion in this area, and from the Onethink to integrate this part, it is difficult.

2. If you are doing something that requires a user system, and user interaction is more than the new project, then choose OC, OC Presence, will undoubtedly let you more powerful, save a lot of development time.

Expect

By comparison of two open source projects, it is clear that OC is still not up to the extent of silver bullets, but recently I found OC in open source China osc@git PHP category ranking is the first, no doubt also give developers a good choice.

Stay at the end of this article and let me express my expectations for OC's future development. Modular system construction Concept is good, if OC's development team can focus on developers, to provide more support to developers, I believe there will be more and more PHP developers to adopt OC, but also want to use OC developers can actively share the function extension, so that OC can go farther.
