Using a laptop as a wireless router in win7-wired to wireless, wireless signal transmitter

This is what we saw from a forum. reposted here is a diary. First of all, we need to note that the computer system must be a Windows 7 system before it can be set as a wireless router, other systems require specialized software. My mobile phone can be used for tests.

1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator

Choose Start> All Programs> attachments, right-click the command prompt, and select Run as administrator ".

2. Enter the command at the command prompt

Netsh WLAN set hostednetwork mode = allow SSID = Name key of the wireless network = set password (10-bit password, at least 8 bits are recommended; otherwise, it may be invalid ). Press ENTER

3. Check whether the setting is successful.

Choose "Control Panel"> "network and Internet"> "view network status and task"> "Change adapter Settings", and you will find that a Microsoft Virtual WLAN miniport adapter is added, this is the wireless network adapter we just virtualized.

4. enable virtual wireless Routing

Enter netsh WLAN start hostednetwork in the command prompt. Press enter to open the virtual wireless router. Open the network sharing center and find that you are now connected to two networks. One is your wired network, and the other is a virtual network (the laptop is generally a wireless network 2 ).

5. Set sharing

In "Change adapter Settings", right-click "Local Connection" (that is, the wired network card that you connect to the network), select "properties", and click "share ", select the "allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this computer" option, select the created virtual network (generally "Wireless Network 2") from the drop-down menu, and click OK. (If you cannot find this option, restart your computer before it is possible to find this option)

If you are using a wireless network card, select "USB-KEY dial" access network wireless network card device name select "properties", click "share ", select the "allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this computer" option, select the created virtual network (generally "Wireless Network 2") from the drop-down menu, and click OK.

After completing this step, all the settings are complete. You can use your mobile phone to enable Wi-Fi search to determine whether the wireless network is available.
