Some time ago, Dudu added httpcompress to reduce network traffic. Yesterday, I added one to my website. Use the fetch test that comes with it. If you don't understand the result, use Iris instead.
This compression must be supported by the client at the same time. If the HTTP header of the client contains:
Accept-encoding: gzip, deflate
The server sends the compressed file. Otherwise, the uncompressed data is sent. I first use 2003 to access my XP SP2, which is easy to use and has a compression ratio. Then, Access 2003 with xpsp2. the header is not found in the result. Then, use xpsp2 to access xpsp2 and use 98 to Access 2003 without the header. Then access it with the built-in fetch, and it does not have this header, but there is ------------------:---------. Is this a wildcard? However, the server does not compress the results either...
If ie5.0 and ie6.0 (not tested by other systems) after the patch of XP SP2 do not request compression results by default, the compression module is meaningless. Now we find that the only supported is the IE in the 2003 Server.
I hope some friends can study this problem together. I didn't find any relevant settings in IE.
