The contentvalues class is similar to the hashtable class. It is also responsible for storing some name-value pairs. However, the name of the name-Value Pair stored in it is of the string type, and the value is of the basic type.
In the previous example, we inserted an SQL statement. The advantage of an SQL statement is that it is intuitive but error-prone. However, in this example, we have a better solution. Here we will put all the values to be inserted into a contentvalues instance.
Contentvalues initialvalues = new contentvalues () Statement instantiate a contentvalues class.
The initialvalues. Put (key_title, title) statement places the column name and the corresponding column value in initialvalues.
The MDB. insert (database_table, null, initialvalues) Statement inserts a new record. If the insert operation succeeds, the ID of the record is returned. If the insert operation fails,-1 is returned.
