When you import data into Excel, the 0 at the beginning of the data disappears. Why is that?

Default leading zeros in Excel disappear. If you want to keep it, we need to do some formatting.

Open Excel, on the Data tab, in the Get External Data section, click from Text .

Locate the target file you want to open, select, and click Import .

After the Text Import Wizard pops up, in the separator symbol section, tick the comma check box, and then click Next .

Set column data format to text .

Now the leading 0 can be displayed correctly.
