Win Vista compatibility problem analysis and incomplete solution

New-listed operating systems, which are generally not as perfect for other software, are particularly true for Windows Vista. In the actual use of the process found that QQ will cause the system blue screen, some software can not be used. In addition to waiting for the appropriate software upgrades to provide better support for Windows Vista, there are ways to manually resolve compatibility issues.

Permissions are more restrictive in Windows Vista, and you can access all folders under the WinXP administrator default configuration, not under Windows Vista. Even if you are an administrator, you do not have the ability to open all directories by default, which causes some green software to not function properly. For example, login QQ, because QQ will go to QQ number for the name of the folder to write data, in Windows Vista, if the current login system account does not have the appropriate directory write permission, will lead to the inability to log in.

This problem solving method is very simple, give the corresponding user to the QQ directory full access permissions on it.

Right click on the QQ installation directory, select "Properties", switch to the Security tab, click the "Edit" button, check the "Allow" option after "Full Control" (see Figure 1), and give the appropriate user full access, press OK to make the settings effective.

This solution applies not only to QQ, TM, but also to other green software. When you find that running a green software in Windows Vista is an error, you may want to deal with the permissions setting first.

Solve the blue screen fault caused by QQ

As Tencent company in the latest version of QQ joined the second generation of QQ Secret (official address: https://dna.qq.com), in its login interface, designed a "safe mode" of the login mode, it is intended to better prevent the password is stolen by Trojans. But this is a good gesture, but when you log on to the site, or login QQ, Windows Vista soon blue screen ...

The solution, in fact, is also simple: the QQ/TM is responsible for this security feature through two driver files, Npkcrypt.sys and Npkcusb.sys. They are located in the QQ installation directory in the Qqdlls subdirectory, the two files can be deleted (tm is the Tmdlls directory).

Just notice that after you delete the two files, open Qq/tm again, and the lock after the password entry box is displayed as disabled (Figure 2). Under Windows Vista, a security lock is disabled to properly use QQ/TM.

Tip: The QQ2006 official version has resolved this issue.

Windows Vista has a new architecture, and security is further enhanced, but once installed, you will find this embarrassing phenomenon: there is no anti-virus software available. In Trojan Horse, virus, rogue software rampant today, "naked" is not a good habit.
