Word2007 Show or hide formatting marks

On the Start tab, in the Paragraph group, click Show/Hide.

The show/Hide edit Marks button does not turn off all formatting marks

If you choose to always display a specific tag (such as a paragraph mark or space), the show/Hide Edit Mark button does not hide all formatting marks.

Turn off the selected formatting marks

1. Click Office button, and then click Word Options.

2. Click "Show".

3. Under always show these formatting marks on the screen, clear the check box for any formatting marks that you do not want to always appear in your document.
