You can also manually change to allow HTTP protocol access, and it is recommended to use HTTPS based on security considerations . the Exchange OWA feature can be used internally directly after the exchange Typical installation is complete .

9.2 Outlook MAPIWay Access
If the environment permits, it is highly recommended to use MAPI is used to access the mailbox, using MAPI to use the Outlook client, and in a domain environment , MAPI mode access to the mailbox improves greater integration and is followed by Lync Server ,SharePoint is more integrated. How MAPI access is preferred in all access modes

9.3 POP3 SMTP
POP3 and SMTP are internet standard mail protocols, and POP3 is an offline mail protocol that is not automatically real-time to Exchange when a client uses POP3 The server does the signal synchronization. All mail receive send operations need to be manually executed for "Send and receive". This is a non-cryptographic protocol, the entire Internet transmission using plaintext, low security. This combination of access can also be used in the internal network. This method is not recommended in an internal domain environment. Please note the following points here:
A) By default, the POP3 service is disabled, based on design security considerations, all non-encrypted external services are disabled by default, so you need to start the POP3 service manually.
b)the Exchange Server Management Console POP3 protocol is authenticated by using secure logon by default, using TLS encryption. Therefore, you need to manually change to "plain text login", otherwise you can not use POP3 access in the intranet .
C)the SMTP send connector is not allowed to log on by default, and the Outlook client uses anonymous send by default, in fact, in the public network, the mail server (Post Office) between the sending of mail, the use of the standard SMTP, but is basically anonymously sent in a way. So it's pretty well-based that Outlook is designed with SMTP sent anonymously . One end needs to be modified to match the two sides.
Start POP3 Service, and set to boot automatically

9.4 imap+smtp
IMAP4 is really similar to POP3, which uses offline connections between Exchange servers, and requires manual submission of "Send and receive" for sending and receiving messages. In the case of sudden large-capacity mail sending and receiving, the use of IMAP4 can achieve faster server response speed, the use of no special difference. By default, theIMAP4 service is also in the disabled state.

9.5 Pops+smtps
because POP3 There is a security risk of access, encrypting POP3 with an Exchange server certificate can make security much more secure. The POP3 encryption port is 995, and SMTPS 's encryption port is 587. Note Here the encrypted Send connector Client Anonymous Logon issue.
