In today's ever-expanding network scale, if we still use the previous standalone separate management model, it will certainly be unrealistic! To effectively improve the efficiency of network management and maintenance, many network managers have chosen the remote control mode to manage local networks or servers anytime and anywhere! However, when you use the pcAnyWhere remote control software or use the Remote Desktop Connection function to remotely manage the server, it will often facilitate remote intrusion by illegal attackers! Can we achieve remote control over servers or local networks, and prevent hackers from accessing the server? The answer is yes! This is not the case. Some remote control methods recommended in this article break through the conventional remote control mode to help you manage servers or local networks more efficiently and securely!

1. Use the MMC console for remote control

Although remote desktop or conventional control software such as pcAnyWhere can be used to remotely manage servers, it is undeniable that these control methods have obvious security vulnerabilities, attackers can exploit this vulnerability easily. The computer management function of the MMC console not only effectively manages local or remote servers, but also effectively avoids the obvious security vulnerabilities caused by Remote Desktop Connection, therefore, the MMC console not only facilitates remote management of the server, but also prevents hackers from conducting malicious attacks on the server.

Of course, when using the MMC console to remotely manage the server, you must first obtain the super management permission of the server, and then install the corresponding MMC plug-in and some management tools; for example, to remotely control a Windows Server 2003 Server, you must first obtain the Service Permissions for managing Windows 2003 servers, you also need to install the MMC plug-in and related management tools for Windows 2003 servers on your local computer. Once the above conditions are met, you can perform remote control on the server as follows:

Click Start or run to open the system running dialog box, enter the string command "mmc", and click OK to open the system MMC console window, 1;

Click the "file"/"Add/delete Management Unit" command in the menu bar of the MMC console. In the settings window that appears later, click the "independent" tab, on the corresponding tab page, click "add" to open the "add independent management unit" setting window shown in 2;

Select the "Computer Management" option in the settings window, and then click the "add" button in the corresponding window. In the dialog box shown in 3, select the "another computer" option, enter the IP address of the server to be remotely controlled, and click "finish" to exit the "Computer Management" setting window;

Return to the MMC console window, double-click the management unit you just added, and you will be able to remotely control and manage the server like managing the local workstation. However, when you manage a remote server, an error message "no permission to access the remote computer" or "No access" appears on the System screen, it indicates that you have not obtained the permission to remotely manage the server. In this case, you can click the "file"/"save" menu commands in the console window. In the subsequent file storage dialog box, save the current console as "Remote Management Server ", and exit the MMC console.

Click Start, programs, and administrative tools, and right-click the saved Remote Management Server Project (4) in the lower menu that appears ), run the "run mode" command in the shortcut menu. In the "run identity" setting box that appears, enter the user name and password for managing the remote server, as shown in Figure 5. Then execute the MMC command again, open the MMC console window, and you will be able to remotely manage the target server. It is worth noting that if the local computer and the target server do not belong to the Active Directory Member, even if you enter the super Administrator Account of the target server correctly in the "Running identity" setting box, A super Administrator Account must be created for the local computer.

Prompt: If the local computer and remote server are installed with two different operating systems, you must first install the MMC management plug-in corresponding to the remote server on the local computer. For example, if a Windows 2000 Server is used on a local computer and a remote server is used on a Windows 2003 Server, then you must first install the relevant management tools for Windows 2003 Server on the local computer. The specific installation method is as follows:

First, add the installation disc of the Windows 2003 Server System to the optical drive, open the "i386" folder window, and double-click "adminpak. msi file icon. The Windows 2003 Server Management Tool Installation Wizard window will pop up on the screen;

Follow the on-screen wizard prompts to complete the installation task, then open the MMC console, add all the management tools related to the Windows 2003 Server to it, and then save it, in the future, you will be able to remotely control and manage the Windows 2003 Server according to the above method.
