There are a lot of Linux releases, such as Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, and Debian Linux which we may often use. These Linux systems are almost suitable for the current hardware level, however, it is very difficult to run on some old PCs. This article introduces you to five Lightweight Linux versions to make your old PC tree blossom.

1. CrunchBang Linux

CrunchBang Linux is a Ubuntu-based release featuring lightweight Openbox window manager and GTK + applications. This release was created from a minimal Ubuntu system and is customized to provide a good balance between speed and functionality. Currently, CrunchBang Linux can be obtained from a self-boot running CD. However, we recommend that you install it on the hard disk for optimal performance.

ZENIX includes a set of basic systems and additional software packages. 3. antiX

AntiX is a fast, lightweight, and easy-to-install Linux boot running CD. it is based on the MEPIS and Debian test branches and is designed for Intel/AMD x86 compatible systems.

AntiX provides MEPIS magic for users in an environment suitable for old computers. The purpose of antiX is to provide Linux beginners and veterans with a lightweight, fully functional, and flexible free operating system. It should run on the vast majority of computers-from 64 MB memory but with a 128 MB swap partition of the PII system to the latest high-end machines. The recommended minimum memory configuration for antiX is 128 mb ram, while the installation requires at least 1.2 GB of hard disk space. AntiX can also be used as a quick start emergency disc.

  

 

4. Zenwalk

Zenwalk Linux (formerly called Minislack) is a Linux/GNU operating system based on Slackware. it aims to keep every task simple and fast by setting only one application, it also focuses on graphic desktop and multimedia. Zenwalk features the latest Linux technology and a complete set of programming environments and runtime libraries. It provides an ideal platform for application developers. Zenwalk's modular implementation method also provides a simple way to convert Zenwalk Linux into a highly-regulated modern server (such as LAMP architecture, communication, file sharing.

  

 

5. Xubuntu or Lubuntu

Xubuntu is a Ubuntu-based Linux release. However, unlike Ubuntu, Xubuntu uses a lightweight XFce desktop environment and is optimized for low-end machines. This release only contains GTK + application software as much as possible.
