Shading is important for any image processing because it is always inseparable from the light, and if the shadow is used correctly, you can get a very stunning effect.
In this tutorial, I'll show you some ingenious ways to use Photoshop to create lifelike shadows and lights.
The first step is of course the theory to help you understand how lights and shadows work, and in the later steps, I'll show you how to create shadows.
1 angle of light source and shadow.
Before you start working with images, make sure you don't need shadows. To make yourself clear, you must first determine the main light source.
You can see that the source of the original picture is in the upper left corner, in the synthetic image, the sky and the upper left corner of the cloud are illuminated, you should always respect the direction of light.
You must choose to determine which elements in the image will affect your handling of lights and shadows. (WB: Note which elements in the image will become light sources.) )
The following is a similar situation, except that the light source is from the right side, and the artist in the process of image processing, but also through the guidance of the light source, in the model to deal with the high light.
Sometimes you may not have a reference point to determine the main light source, but you can use the shadow on the image to determine the main light, and here is an example.
There are no signposts in the original picture, which I added with Photoshop. If there is no reference point let me determine where the light source is (in this picture, of course, the sun),
I put a shadow on the street signs I added, based on the shadows of the men and the girls in the picture. If the reference shadow is vague, you should use Gaussian blur, and you add the shadow because of the
As close as possible to the shadow in the original image.
This is the basic theory, simply put, that you have to identify the light source in order to know how to create a shadow.
In the next steps, I'll show you how to create realistic shadows from the beginning. I will tell you some of my personal skills, of course, you can also use your own way to achieve.
Because there are all kinds of different shades, I gave them different names so that I can give examples, but also convenient for you to understand. Category:
