About fireworks Use

Adobe®fireworks® is a multifunctional program for creating, editing, and optimizing Web graphics. You can create and edit bitmap and vector images, design web effects such as transform images and pop-up menus, crop and optimize graphics to reduce their file size, and save time by automating repetitive tasks. You can export or save a document as a JPEG file, a GIF file, or a file in another format. These files can be saved with HTML files that contain HTML tables and JavaScript code, so that you can use them on the Web.

　　1. Draw and edit vector objects and bitmap objects

In the Fireworks Tools panel, the tools used to draw/edit vectors are located in different parts of the tool used to draw/edit bitmaps. The selected tool determines whether the object being created is a vector or a bitmap. After you draw an object or text, you can use a variety of tools, effects, commands, and techniques to enhance your graphics or create interactive navigation buttons. You can also import and edit graphics in JPEG, GIF, PNG, PSD, and many other file formats.

　2. Add interactive effects to graphics

Slices and hotspots are Web objects that specify the interaction area in a Web graphic. Slices cut the image into exportable parts, and you can apply rollover behavior, animations, and Uniform Resource Locator (URL) links to these sections. On a Web page, each slice appears in a table cell. Use the drag-and-drop transform image handles on slices and hotspots to quickly specify swap and transform image behavior for graphics. Use the Fireworks button editor and pop-up menu editor to generate special interactive graphics for navigating on a Web site.

　3. Optimize and export graphics

With the powerful optimization features of Fireworks, you can strike a balance between the file size of the exported graphic and the acceptable visual quality. The type of optimization you choose depends on the needs of the user and what you want to optimize. After you optimize your graphics, the next step is to export them for use on the Web. From the Fireworks source PNG document, you can export many types of files, including JPEG, GIF, GIF animations, and HTML tables that contain sliced images of multiple file types.
