You can import your local physical image files into an ECS environment and create one of your custom mirrors. You can create an ECS instance and replace the system disk with this image.

Supporting file systems

Windows (32 and 64 bits) support the use of the NTFS file system for formatting and MBR partitioning.

Linux/unix (32 and 64 bits) support the use of ext3, EXT4 file system format and MBR partitioning.

Requirements and Restrictions

Only mirrors of the system disk are supported, and the mirror of the data disk is not supported

Multiple network interfaces are not supported.

IPV6 address is not supported.

Password Policy: 8-30 characters, must contain three items (large, lowercase letters, numbers and special symbols).

Please install the virtualization platform XEN and KVM driver.

Windows Restrictions:

Windows system disk size is limited to GB-500 GB

Imported Windows mirroring is providing Windows activation service

Turn off the firewall. Unable to log on without shutting down the firewall, you need to release port 3389

Turn UAC off

Linux Restrictions:

Linux system disk Size limited to GB-500 GB

Linux Kernel Requirements:

Open SELinux not supported

Shutdown firewall defaults to open port 22

Imported Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) mirrors must use the Byol license. Need to buy the product serial number and service to the manufacturer.

Import mirrors from the admin console

Prerequisite conditions

Reference mirroring limitations and requirements, making good mirroring.

If you do not have OSS services open, please open OSS services first.

Mirroring import requires that you proactively authorize OSS access to the official service account of ECS.

Using OSS's Third-party tool client, the OSS API or OSS SDK uploads the produced files to the Bucket within the same region as the ECS user-defined mirror. can refer to how to upload large files to OSS

The work orders request ECS to import the mirror's permissions. Otherwise, the import mirror button is not visible on the console.

Operation Steps

Log on to the OSS management console.

Find the bucket you need, and mirror it in the same area. Then navigate to the OBJEC management on the left, click the upload file, upload the local image file to the OSS, and write down the object address.

Back to the ECS Management console. Click a mirror in the left navigation. You can see a mirrored list.

Click the Import Mirror button.

Make sure that the import mirroring prerequisites are complete. Failure to authorize an ECS official service account to access your OSS permissions will cause the mirroring import to fail.

Fill in the Import mirror form.

Geography: Select the geography where you are about to deploy the application.

Mirrored file OSS address: Directly copy the contents of the get address of the object object from the console of the OSS.

Mirror name: 2-128 characters in length, beginning with uppercase or lowercase letters, and can contain numbers, ".", "_" or "-".

System disk Size: Windows system disk Size value: 40-500 GB, Linux system disk size 20-500 GB.

System Architecture: 64-bit operating system selection x86_64, 32-bit operating system select i386.

Operating system type: Windows or Linux.

System releases: Temporarily supported operating system distributions:

Windows supports Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, and Windows 7;

Linux supports CentOS, Redhat, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo, FreeBSD, CoreOS, and other Linux (please submit a work order to confirm whether it is supported).

If your mirrored operating system is based on Linux internal approval, please contact Aliyun.

Mirrored format: Supports RAW and VHD two formats, recommends that customers use RAW format, the success rate is much higher, do not support the use of qemu-image to create a VHD format mirror.

Mirroring Description: Fills in the mirror description information.

Click Submit to create a task that imports a mirror.

Importing a mirror is a time-consuming task that requires you to wait a few hours to complete. The time to finish depends on the size of your mirrored file and how busy your current import task is. You can see this mirror progress in the mirror list of your imported territory.

You can also use task management to locate the image of the import and cancel the task operation on this import image.
