Mysql> use mysql

You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with-

Step 3: change the password. remember to use the password () function to encrypt the password. do not forget it !!!
Mysql> update user set password = password ('qwe123') where user = 'root ';
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.04 sec)
Rows matched: 1 Changed: 1 Warnings: 0
Step 4: refresh the permission table
Mysql> flush privileges;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
Step 5: Exit mysql
Mysql> quit
Bye
Step 6: restart mysql
[Root @ CentOs5 ~] # Servicemysqld restart;
STOPPING server from pid file/var/run/mysqld. pid
