Classic Internet cafe fault

In October, it was a breeze for Internet cafes. I found a lot of faults in the internet cafe maintenance in the last month. These faults seem simple, but we often ignore these details during routine maintenance.

1. When running some games, the system prompts that the MSVBVM60.DLL file is missing.

Fault performance: my operating system is Windows XP Professional. When running some games or programs, the system prompts "MSVBVM60.DLL is not found, so this application cannot be started, "Re-installing the application may fix this issue ". Click OK to exit the program.

Solution: MSVBVM60.DLL is the Microsoft VB Runtime Library file. Some applications or games use Microsoft's VB language technology to support this library file. This problem may be caused by the loss of this file. We can find this file in a computer without this fault through the "Search" function, copy it to the "Windows \ System32" folder in the system directory. Note: The VB Runtime Library file has been installed in Windows 98, so this fault will not occur.

2. Windows XP shared folder, which can be connected to only 10 users at the same time

Fault performance: I used Windows XP shared folders to create a movie server. The following clients access the server quickly. However, shared folders can only be connected to ten users at the same time. 11th-bit users cannot connect to the shared folder.

Solution: Microsoft's Windows XP family edition and Professional Edition, Windows 2000 Professional Edition operating systems, for shared folders, only 10 connections at the same time are allowed. Because none of the three operating systems are server operating systems, you can upgrade them to the server system or install third-party software. We can use a software named "Ntswitch" to solve the limitations that shared folders allow ten connections at the same time.

3. How do I restrict users from using the task manager?

Fault performance: After Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems are installed on Internet cafes, some people often use the task manager to forcibly stop the billing software program, to enable free Internet access.

Solution: For users using Vientiane 2003 876, you can set it as follows. Log on to the operating system as unlocked, log off the user, and log on to the system as Administrator. After entering the system, find the Task Manager source code Taskmgr, which is located in the System32 subdirectory of the Windows installation directory. Fault performance: recently, due to the feeling that Windows 98 is too unstable and often crashes and blue screens, all Internet cafes have installed Windows 2000 operating systems. After the Windows 2000 operating system is used, the host crashes when the red alarm is detected in the LAN, and everything works normally under Windows 98.

Solution: The red alert uses the IPX protocol to connect the local network to Alibaba Cloud. The system clones the same hard disk, so that all the internal network numbers in the IPX protocol are the same. When the red alarm comes online, the operating system crashes because all machines use the same internal network number and therefore cannot complete normal online operations.

To solve this problem, open the "local connection" attribute and find the "Nwlink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Comatible Transpor" protocol. Double-click the Protocol to open the attribute dialog box of IPX protocol. We can see that the number of the internal network number is 00000000. We can give the machines in the LAN a non-repeated internal network number to solve the problem of connecting the red-warning LAN. 5. Use Realone to play online movies with regular Buffering

Fault: Constantly buffering when using Realone Player to watch online movies. If you use Realone to play the video on a computer on the LAN, there will also be constant buffering. I tried to replace the various versions of Realone, which cannot be solved.

Solution: Open the Realone Player and find the "Preferences" setting menu in the "Tools" menu. Open the hardware option in the "Preferences" Settings menu.

Set the "Sound Card compatibility" and "video card compatibility" options.

6. in Windows 98, the drive cannot be completely disabled.

Fault description: I have blocked the drive in the BIOS of my computer. However, when I enter the Windows 98 operating system, I still can see the drive icon in my computer. Right-click "my computer" and choose "my computer"> "advanced"> "drive disk A is using DOS-compatible". In addition, the system performance is greatly reduced.

Solution: although we disable the software drive in the basic BIOS settings of the computer. However, there is another option that we do not prohibit. In the advanced settings of BIOS, find the "Report No FDD For Win95" option and set it to Yes.

7. Drive sharing cannot be removed from Windows 2000/XP

Fault description: on a machine installed with Windows 2000 or XP, a default share exists in the share and cannot be deleted.

Solution: In the "run" section of the "Start" menu, Run "Services. msc", find the "Server" service option, and disable the service. For Internet cafes, we generally do not enable disk sharing, especially drive sharing in Windows 2000/XP operating systems by default. It is best to disable it. First, to prevent the spread of Network viruses, in addition, it can effectively prevent the computer from being eroded by hackers.

8. How to change the Start Menu mode of Windows XP

After Windows XP is installed, it is difficult to open the Start Menu. Due to the beautiful appearance of Windows XP, limited system resources are occupied. For our Internet cafes, we do not need beautiful appearances. We need to maximize system performance and speed up system operation. In addition, opening "my computer" is not as friendly as Windows 98.

Solution: Open "display" in "Control Panel" and change the topic to "Windows classic" in the "topic" menu. Open the "Start Menu" and "my computer" to check if you are familiar with it and the system is running much faster than before?

9. IE browser graded review password forgot

Fault description: On the cashier of the Internet cafe, in order to prevent the cashier from opening the website at will, I set the IE graded review password in the IE browser so that the cashier can only log on to the Esales website. However, some websites need to be added later, and the hierarchical audit password of IE browser is forgotten.

Solution: In "run" in the Start Menu, enter Regedit to open the Registry Editor and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \
CurrentVersion \ raties \ Ratings key value. After opening the Ratings folder, you will see a key value in the window on the right. Right-click the key and choose Delete, close Registry Editor and restart the computer.
