Cognos display expired data

Recently I used Cognos for active report. I found that the running of the Cognos report still displays outdated data after the database data is updated. Speculation may be about caching (using caching can provide performance ). Try to clear ie cache but it still does not work. You may need to clear the Cognos cache.

Cache improves performance when you re-run a report with a small modification, perform analysis in the same multi-dimensional data set, and execute duplicate primary/Detailed information requests for a large report. The cache retains the security permissions of the user who executes the request.

 

You can manually clear and automatically take a job to clear the cached content so that the report does not apply outdated data:

By default, the cache used in the dynamic query mode is cleared every 24 hours to avoid generating reports based on old data. The actual time for clearing each cache depends on the cache creation time.

Clear all content in the cache
To avoid using expired data that may be stored in the cache, you can clear the cache.

Create and schedule query service management tasks
The administrator can create and plan query service tasks for the data source. A query service task controls one or more cubes by clearing, writing, or refreshing its cache. For dynamic multi-dimensional datasets, you can also schedule the start, stop, or restart time of the multi-dimensional dataset and refresh security.

 

You can also control it in the report options. To speed up the process, Cognos will store the result set in the high-speed cache, and the result set will be updated only after a period of time. Sometimes the changed data will not change immediately. It will take some time, the solution is to turn off the high-speed cache in the report query. The disadvantage is that the query speed is a little slower than that of every query, and the tables with high real-time performance will be turned off, if the real-time performance is low, it is no longer necessary to post a picture to you.
