Common Problems and Solutions for word styles

When using Styles, you may encounter some problems. Below are some common solutions.

(1) paragraphs that apply the same style do not look similar.

The reason may be that some paragraphs use the word format command to manually set the format.

To cancel the manual format, first select the paragraph together with the paragraph mark, and then press Ctrl + Shift + z

Press Ctrl + Q to cancel the paragraph format.

(2) The format applied using paragraph styles or character styles may change the existing textCharacter format.

For example, when you apply a bold style to a section that contains bold text, the original bold characters are not bold. In this case, the paragraph style should be applied first, and then the character format should be applied, so this problem will not occur.

(3) unexpected style changes.

Check whether the automatic update function of this style is enabled. If the automatic update function is selected, the style is automatically updated when the style is modified, so that the text of the style applied in the document is consistent.

To disable this function, click style in the Format menu, select a style in the style box, and click Change. If the [automatic update] check box is selected, clear

Some styles may be created based on another style. Modifications to the style will affect the style. For example, the [header] style is based on the [body] style. If you change the text body in the [body] Style
The font of the [header] style is also changed to the black one.

If the template of the opened document is modified, the style may be updated according to the new definition in the template when the document is opened. If you do not want to update a document based on the style of a specific template when you open the document, click the template and add-on command in the Tools menu, then, clear the "automatically update document style" check box.

When a template containing the style definition is lost (such as the document is copied to another computer for editing) or damaged (such as deleted), the current document uses the style definition in the normal template.
