Comparison of Java strings

Another hole in Java is that you cannot compare strings directly with an equal sign.

Like what:

String t1= "ABC";

String t2= "ABC";

This time t1==t2 is returning false.

Fortunately, the string class has a CompareTo function that can compare strings when the returned result is 0 to indicate equality.

public class CompareString {/** * @param args */public static void main (string[] args) {//TODO auto-generated method stub String t1= "ABC"; String t2= "ABC"; if (T1.compareto (T2) ==0) {System.out.println ("T1 equals  T2");}}}
