You can install WinGrub software on XP and configure to generate C: \ Grub \ menu. lst in boot. add the last line C: \ GRLDR = "zasuei Linux" in ini.
Modify C: \ Grub \ menu. lst
Change to/boot/grub/menu. lst in linux.
Resend and select this menu. (Note: The timeout of boot. ini is 5 or more. Otherwise, press f8)
Some people say that GRUB is added to the grub menu when the system is started. It must have been written into MBR during LINUX installation. It doesn't matter. Fix MBR.
Installing MaxDOS V6 in XP is really easy to use. Whether your C drive (XP system disk) Is NTFS or FAT32, NTFS can be used to repair MBR under DOS.
Press enter in the grub menu and press F8 to enter the safe mode menu. Then, select the last menu to return to the operating system and boot. after selecting MaxDOS V6 in ini, enter fdisk/mbr under A: \ To restore MBR. However, before restoring mbr, we recommend that you set/boot/grub/menu in linux. copy the content of lst to XP. Otherwise, the MBR will not be able to enter linux without GRUB. Although it can be repaired with a linux disk, it will be troublesome.

Use the rescue mode for linux Disks
1. Place the first disk to the optical drive, restart the machine, and use the optical drive to guide the system in BOIS.
2. After the installation interface is installed, press the [F4] key, that is, the linux rescue mode.
3. A series of keyboards and a few simple preparations, then [continue... This process is simple.

Note that there is a space between root and (hdX, Y). Here, X is 0 if it is a disk, if the root partition of the linux system you have installed is on the second hard disk, X is 1, and Y is the root partition where the linux system is installed. Setup (hd0) is to write GRUB to the hard disk MBR.
