Components required by make menuconfig: libncurses5;

Installation command: sudo apt-get install libncurses5

Ensure that both libncurses5 and libncurses5-dev are installed, and you can view the new version in System Management

After installation, you can use make menuconfig.

Make xconfig requires: libqt3-mt-dev

Installation command: sudo apt-get install libqt3-mt-dev
